Description
Validity: The Blue Skilled Worker card remains active for five years.
Eligibility: Designed for individuals who have completed:
- A construction‑related NVQ/SVQ Level 2
- An SVQ at SCQF Level 5
- A recognised apprenticeship programme (including employer‑sponsored schemes)
- A City & Guilds Craft Certificate (CGLI)
- Any CSCS‑approved apprenticeship route
Experienced Worker Route
- If you don’t yet hold the above qualifications but have substantial on‑site experience, you can apply for an Experienced Worker Card.
- Requirement: You must be registered for a qualification relevant to your trade or occupation.
Mandatory Health & Safety Test
- All applicants must pass the CITB Health, Safety & Environment (HS&E) Test.
- The relevant test must be taken within the last two years.
Renewal: Your CSCS Card must be renewed within 11 months of its expiry date. If renewal is requested after this period, you will be required to provide a valid copy of your qualification certificate, and show proof of having successfully completed the CITB Test within the last 2 years. You can also renew your CSCS Card 6 months prior to the expiry date.
CSCS Card Replacement: Need a replacement for your CSCS Card? You can order a new one anytime, as long as your current card is still valid.
