Centrally positioned in Scotland’s largest city, the Glasgow test centre is easily accessible for construction candidates traveling from across Greater Glasgow, Paisley, East Kilbride, Cumbernauld, Hamilton, and the surrounding Clyde Valley region.

Test Centre Information

Washington Street in situated off the Broomielaw before the Kingston Bridge underpass on the right hand side if travelling from City Centre direction.

Pedestrian access is also situated if travelling from the City Centre along Argyle Street before reaching the Clydeside Expressway and across from the Marriot Hotel. A set of pedestrian stairs will lead you down to Washington Street and the building is located on the right hand side after approx 100 yards.

There is on street pay and display parking outside the building, there is also a pay and display car park is situated at the junction of Broomielaw and Washington Street.

Anderson rail station is a five minute walk away and Glasgow Central is just 10 minutes away. Local bus services provide direct access to the arterial bus routes to north and south Glasgow.

Full Disabled Access: Lift solely for disabled candidates at entrance to building thereafter lift to the third floor where testing takes place in room 325.

NOTE. If the front access door to the building is closed, use the intercom system. The full instructions are displayed at the entrance.

Arrival & Security Protocol

• Strict 15-Minute Rule: You must arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment time to complete check-in procedures. Late arrivals will be turned away without a refund.

• No Visitor Access: The Glasgow test center strictly prohibits non-candidates (family, colleagues, or children) from entering or waiting inside the facility.

• Locker Facilities: Small secure lockers are provided on-site for personal items. All personal belongings—including mobile phones, watches, bags, and revisions materials—must be stored away prior to entering the computer test room.

• Accepted Photo Identification: You cannot take your test without bringing a valid, original physical photo ID. Acceptable forms of ID include a valid UK Passport or Photocard Driving Licence. Digital copies, photos on phones, or expired IDs are strictly rejected.

• Parking Options: On-street parking directly outside city-centre commercial buildings is extremely scarce and subject to strict local council enforcement. If you must drive, plan to use one of the nearby multi-storey commercial car parks in Glasgow city centre and allow extra time for the walk.

Because guests are not permitted to wait inside the centre, early arrivals can grab a coffee and review notes at nearby cafes, restaurants, or station concourses before their test time.
